Welcome to the website of musician & composer Florian van der Reijden.
Florian is a versatile composer with a love for the visual media. After graduating from the conservatory in classical piano, he pursued a masters in film composition at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Some of the films for which he composed the score have been screened on television and at film festivals in Europe, America, and Asia.
In 2024, he received the Grand Prize for Best Original Music at the Festival International Music & Cinema in Marseille for his score for A Capella in D Minor. That same year, he was also awarded the Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer at the World Soundtrack Awards for his rescore of The Witches, performed by the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra.
In addition to his film work, he has composed commissioned concert pieces, including Sonos, which was performed by the Practicum Musicae Orchestra in 2023.
In 2024, he recorded and released his solo piano EP In Five Pieces, which is available on various streaming platforms.
